Who we are
This website, viitechnologies.com, is operated by Vii Technologies, LLC (“Vii Technologies”, “we”, “us”), a consulting and software engineering firm and IFS Authorized Partner based in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. We decide how and why the personal information described here is used. You can reach us at info@viitechnologies.com.
What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, our contact form, the emails you exchange with us and our marketing communications; how we use and share it; how long we keep it; and the choices and rights you have.
It does not cover information we handle on a client’s behalf while delivering services or licensing our software. That is governed by our agreement with the client.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use the contact form, email us or meet us at an event, we receive what you share: your name, company, job title, work email address and phone number, the situation you select, and anything you write.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, we and the companies that provide our hosting, security and analytics receive information about your device and your visit: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language, pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, the site that referred you, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. This comes from server logs and from cookies and similar technologies. Analytics and marketing cookies are used only as described in Cookies and analytics.
Information from other sources
We may receive business contact details from people who refer you to us, from event organizers, from our software partners such as IFS, and from public professional sources such as company websites and professional networks.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not send it to us.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to run and secure the site. With your permission where the law requires it, we also use:
- Analytics cookies, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics collects the kinds of device and usage information described above. To learn how Google handles this information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Marketing cookies and tags from advertising and social media companies, to measure our outreach and show relevant content on other sites.
You can accept or reject optional cookies when you first visit and change your choice at any time in Cookie settings. Our Cookie notice lists the cookies in use today.
How we use information
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation with a partner.
- To prepare proposals and to provide and manage the services you ask for.
- To send updates about our services, events and Perspective articles. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
- To understand how the site is used and to improve it.
- To measure how well our marketing works.
- To operate and secure the site, including detecting and preventing fraud and abuse.
- To comply with the law and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
How we share information
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers that host and secure the site, deliver and store email, provide analytics, and run our customer relationship and marketing tools. They act on our instructions.
- Analytics and marketing companies, when you allow their cookies. They receive device and usage information and may also use it for their own purposes under their own privacy policies.
- Software partners such as IFS, when your enquiry concerns their products. We may share your business contact details and the nature of the opportunity, for example to register it with the partner or prepare a joint proposal.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants.
- Authorities and others, where the law requires it or where needed to protect rights, property or safety.
- A successor, if our business is reorganized, merged or sold. The information remains subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information for money.
Your choices
- Cookies. Change your choice at any time in Cookie settings, or use your browser settings.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends this signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of marketing cookies.
- Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any message, or email info@viitechnologies.com.
- Google Analytics. Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on any site.
US state privacy rights
Depending on where you live in the United States, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; to access, correct and delete it; to receive a portable copy; and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale and profiling.
Some state laws treat the use of certain marketing cookies as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Those cookies run only if you allow them, and you can turn them off at any time in Cookie settings. We treat Global Privacy Control as a valid opt-out. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
We will not discriminate against you for using these rights. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
UK and EEA rights and legal bases
If UK or EU data protection law applies, you may access, correct or delete your personal information; restrict or object to how we use it; ask for a portable copy; and withdraw consent at any time. You may object to direct marketing at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
We rely on these legal bases: consent for analytics and marketing cookies and, where required, marketing emails; our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, developing client relationships, improving the site and keeping it secure; steps you ask us to take before entering a contract; and legal obligations.
Making a request
Email info@viitechnologies.com with your request. We may need to verify your identity before acting. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. We respond within the time the law requires.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal information from the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here:
- Enquiries and related correspondence: generally no longer than three years after our last contact, unless a client relationship or the law requires longer.
- Analytics data linked to a device or visitor: no longer than 14 months.
- Records related to services we provide: as our agreement with the client and the law require.
- Server and security logs: for the short periods set by our hosting and security provider.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
This website is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
Our site links to other websites, such as research sources and our partners. Their privacy practices are their own.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change to this policy here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
